The Office of The Attorney General’s Civil Rights Section protects civil rights by enforcing District law in cases involving a pattern or practice of unlawful discrimination. The Civil Rights Section does not represent you at this time, the information gathered will be used to determine whether our section can assist you in this matter. The DC Office of Human Rights (OHR) is the primary agency that investigates individual complaints of discrimination in the District. Similarly, there are federal government agencies that may investigate claims of discrimination. Sharing your tip with CRS does not stop the 1-year deadline for filing a complaint with OHR or deadlines associated with any other agency or court deadlines. Submitting this intake questionnaire does not constitute the filing of a discrimination charge.
